NC SCHOOL LIBRARY MEDIA ASSOCIATION

If you have questions about having a Battle of Books team, you may be able to find the answer on this page.

I want to have a team.  What steps need to be taken?  Click this handy flow chart to see if you can have a team.

1) Be sure your school meets the eligibility requirements.

2) Coach needs to join NCSLMA and complete the compliance form.

I have a team and have completed my compliance form and now I am moving to a new school.  What will happen with my team?

The new librarian/coach will need to join NCSLMA since memberships are NOT transferable.  We can honor the compliance form that has been filed but the new coach name need to be sent to the Director of Book Programs.

Our school has a job vacancy for the librarian but no one is applying for the job. We would like to have a team.  What can we do?

If the school is looking to fill the position, a teacher or other certified staff member can serve as the coach as long as he/she joins NCSLMA and completes the compliance form.

I would like to make a book recommendation to be considered for the list.  How do I do that?

Great!  There are forms on each levels webpage. Nominations can be made by anyone!

I am a homeschool teacher.  Can my students compete in your competition?

Great question!  Since we are an association of school libraries and school librarians, homeschool students do not meet the eligibility requirements to be a part of our competition.
